Nurse's Note

Hello, my name is Carolyn Hendrix and I feel so honored and privileged to be your cubs’ school nurse at Carlisle-Foster’s Grove Elementary School. I am a Registered nurse with over 20 years clinical experience. I worked as a neonatal and pediatric nurse at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for 7 years prior to working as a school nurse.

I have been the school nurse at CFG since September 2003. I am married and have 2 children that also were students here at CFG. I am very passionate about working with children and it is so gratifying to work withNurse Carolyn Hendrix a team of individuals here at CFG that share that same passion.

I have been asked many times what I do as a school nurse other than give out hugs and band aids. The purpose of having a full time nurse in the health room of the school is to help keep your child healthy. We all know that healthy children learn better. I am not trained or allowed to diagnose an illness. I am here to assist students with medical needs such as hearing and vision screenings, basic first aid, medication administration, developing and implementing Health care plans for students with chronic illnesses and special needs.
